Celsius to Kelvin Converter

Convert degrees Celsius (°C) to kelvins (K) as you type — K = °C + 273.15. Switch units, change the precision or copy the result.

How to use this tool

Steps for using the Unit Converter.

  1. Enter a value in From — degrees Celsius are already selected.
  2. The result in kelvins appears instantly. Change either unit to convert to anything else in temperature.
  3. Use the swap button for the reverse conversion, and set the decimal places you need.
  4. Turn on Show formula to see the calculation, then copy or share the result.

Example

25 °C to K

Celsius
25 °C
Kelvin
K = 25 + 273.15 = 298.15 K

Common use cases

  • Weather forecasts and thermostat settings in °C and °F.
  • Oven temperatures in recipes (180 °C ≈ 356 °F).
  • Science, engineering and colour temperatures in kelvin.

The units

Celsius (°C)
K − 273.15. Part of the Metric system.
Kelvin (K)
SI base unit; 0 K is absolute zero. Part of the SI system.

How to convert degrees Celsius to kelvins

Science and engineering use kelvin, the SI unit; a change of 1 °C equals a change of 1 K.

To convert degrees Celsius to kelvins, use K = °C + 273.15. Temperature scales have different zero points, so the conversion adds an offset as well as scaling — multiplying alone gives the wrong answer.

Celsius (°C): K − 273.15. Kelvin (K): SI base unit; 0 K is absolute zero.

For the opposite direction, use the Kelvin to Celsius converter. All temperature units are on the temperature converter.

Limitations

  • Results are rounded to the decimal places you choose; the calculation itself keeps full precision.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert degrees Celsius to kelvins?

Use K = °C + 273.15. For example, 25 °C = 298.15 K and 37 °C = 310.15 K.

At what temperature are Celsius and Fahrenheit equal?

At −40: −40 °C = −40 °F.

What is normal body temperature in Fahrenheit?

37 °C = 98.6 °F.
