Queries copied from logs, ORMs or monitoring tools usually arrive as a single unreadable line. Formatting them is the first step to understanding a slow query or reviewing a migration.

About these database tools
The SQL formatter understands the dialect differences between PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, SQLite, SQL Server, BigQuery and others, and lets you choose keyword case and indentation. The SQL to JSON helper converts INSERT statements into JSON rows — useful for fixtures, seed data and quick inspection of dumps.
Why use them
Dialect aware
Pick the SQL dialect so vendor-specific syntax such as PostgreSQL casts or T-SQL brackets is formatted correctly.
Defined conversion rules
SQL to JSON documents exactly which INSERT forms it understands and reports anything else as an error rather than guessing.
Frequently asked questions
Does the SQL formatter execute or validate my query?
No. It re-indents the query text. It does not connect to a database, so it cannot tell you whether tables or columns exist.
Can I convert SELECT results to JSON?
The converter works on INSERT ... VALUES statements, which is the format most database dump tools produce. Converting live query results requires a database connection, which this browser tool intentionally does not have.
