How to use this tool
Steps for using the QR Code Generator.
- Pick a QR code type — Website URL, WiFi, Contact (vCard), WhatsApp, UPI and more — and fill in the form. The code updates as you type.
- Open Customize Design to choose a module style, eye shape, colours or a gradient, add your logo, a frame with a “Scan me” label, or a transparent background. Or pick a Template.
- Check the Live Preview; the Scan Test tab decodes the image in your browser to confirm it reads back exactly.
- Choose a size and Download PNG, SVG or a print-ready PDF. Need many codes? Upload a CSV under Batch QR Code Generation and download them all as a ZIP.

QR code types, static vs dynamic codes and error correction
A QR code stores text. What happens when it's scanned depends on how that text is written: a web address opens a browser, WIFI: joins a network, BEGIN:VCARD saves a contact, mailto: starts an email, SMSTO: a text message, geo: a map and upi://pay a payment app. This generator writes each format to its specification — including escaping special characters such as ; in WiFi passwords — and the Scan Test confirms the image decodes back to exactly that text.
Codes made here are static: the content is inside the code, so it works forever with no server and no tracking, but it can't be changed after printing. Dynamic QR codes instead contain a short link to a redirect service, which lets the owner change the destination and count scans — that needs a hosted service and an account, which this free tool doesn't use.
Error correction adds redundancy so a code still scans when part of it is dirty, damaged or covered: Low recovers about 7%, Medium 15%, Quartile 25% and High 30%. Higher levels make the code denser. A logo covers the middle of the code, so the generator uses at least Quartile whenever you add one and clears the modules behind the logo.
For reliable scanning keep strong contrast (a dark code on a light background), leave the quiet zone around the code, keep logos small, print at least 2 × 2 cm and always test the final printed code with a phone.
Limitations
- Codes are static. Dynamic codes, short links and scan analytics need a hosted service and aren't offered.
- A code can only hold about 2,900 characters (less with higher error correction); long text makes a dense code.
- A QR code for a PDF, image or video holds its link, not the file — the file must stay online.
- The Scan Test checks the image in your browser; still scan the printed code with a phone.
Frequently asked questions
Are these QR codes free, and do they expire?
Yes, free and they never expire. The content is stored in the code itself (a static code), so it keeps working without any server or account.
Can I change where a QR code points after printing?
Not with a static code — the content is fixed. If you need to change it later, encode a link to a page you control, then change that page.
Will my QR code still work with a logo?
Yes, if the logo is small. The generator clears the area behind it and switches to at least Quartile error correction. Keep the logo under about 25% of the width and use the Scan Test.
Which format should I download?
PNG for websites, documents and social media; SVG for design tools and large prints because it stays sharp at any size; PDF for a ready-to-print A4 page.
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No. Codes, logos and batch CSV files are processed in your browser. Recent designs are saved only in this browser (without logos).
